The Law of Attraction – Can Willpower Get You Everything You Desire?

I don’t read books except for scientific ones. However, among my few books, I found this interesting and thought-provoking piece, ‘The Power’ by Rhonda Byrne, who asserts that by harnessing the power within every individual, one can manifest everything they dream of in life.

The Law of Attraction draws in what you think

According to the book, it’s about eliminating all negativity from your thought patterns and approach to life. When negativity is removed and everything is approached positively, more positivity enters one’s life.

“When you give positivity, you receive positivity; when you give negativity, you receive negativity.”

“All people, situations, and events you encounter in your life gravitate towards you according to the thoughts and feelings you’ve produced.”

You get what you give.

The book offers, at times, amusing suggestions on how to turn negativity into positivity, into a “force of love.” For instance, everyone hates bills. Bills should be imagined as checks addressed to oneself or envision being wealthy and sharing money with others. This way, the negative energy directed towards money transforms into positive attraction that brings more money. Challenging, but let’s try it. The point is to approach everything positively by any means.

The power of positive thinking related to one’s health and well-being does work to some extent, proven by the effectiveness of placebos, where the mind is tricked into believing in the effectiveness of the drug. So, why wouldn’t it work in other aspects of life?

I have yet to read the book from cover to cover, but I’ve decided to do so now and test if this ‘power’ works. Eliminating negativity from thoughts and attitudes is challenging. When you pay attention to it, you notice being negative about many small things and expressing things in a negative tone.

There’s nothing stopping us from being positive at every moment, so let’s give it a try. Even today, I had a poorly slept night with my youngest child being sick, and it seems like I might be coming down with a cold too. Work needs to be done, the house is a mess. Those bills also need to be taken care of. Negativity amplifies in the mind. Let’s then turn the situation around, seeing it as a challenging night where I cared for my child, who slept better because they received medicine and care. Today, the sun is shining, and it’s pleasantly cold. There is hope for a proper winter!

Let’s be positive. Let’s see if a lottery win is on the horizon.

May the Force be with You.
